Commissioned by Site Gallery, the exhibition will include the premiere of new work in film, installation and sound, drawing from her ongoing research into contact based (femxle) sports, athletic methodologies, training and rehabilitation.
Working alongside coaches and athletes, Davies navigates physical intimacy, body autonomy, and personal narratives of injury and recovery through an expansive audio and visual installation and public programme of activity.
Angelica Sule, Curator at Site Gallery says ‘working with Phoebe on her first institutional solo exhibition is a privilege. Phoebe’s exceptional practice deals with complex social issues through a highly considered and embedded collaborative approach. We’re looking forward to bringing this important work to audiences in Sheffield.’
