Site Gallery Trustree
Multiple Positions, Voluntary
We are seeking to appoint up to five new Trustees to support the charity to take forward the vision and strategy for Site Gallery, its artists, visitors and communities. We care deeply that the work we create is relevant to our city and to people living in Sheffield, and it is critical that our Board is representative of the wide range of communities we want to engage with.
Trustees will draw on their life experiences and/or professional knowledge to enhance Site Gallery’s work as we strive to invest in artists, present ambitious programme and be relevant to and reach Sheffield’s diverse communities.
We are interested in hearing from people with skills, knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Practicing artists
- Arts and cultural leadership
- Business leadership or financial management
- Strategic partnership in civic agendas – e.g. regeneration, place-making and community
- Technology – particularly creative or digital technology
- Experience in working in youth, community or health & wellbeing environments
Previous experience of Board membership is not required – induction and training is provided.
It is an urgent issue that the governance of the arts and cultural sector is significantly under-represented with people from Black, Asian and other minority ethnic backgrounds as well as those from lower socio-economic backgrounds, those who identify as LGTBQIA+ and those with disabilities. We particularly encourage applications from people from these backgrounds and young applicants under 25 years old who are interested in their first trusteeship.
For more information and to apply, please download the application pack.
Deadline for applications is midday on Friday 21 July.
Interviews are planned to take place in September.
If you have any questions about the role, or would like to talk to an existing trustee for more information prior to making an application please contact Judith Harry, Chief Executive on judith.harry@sitegallery.org
Front of House Volunteer
Flexible, Voluntary Role
We’re looking for dynamic individuals who want to gain experience working within the arts and cultural sector as part of a friendly and dedicated team.
Volunteers must be 18+ and be able to commit to a minimum of one half day shift per month.
Some administrative experience is useful but we’re committed to nurturing the learning and experience of volunteers – the most important thing is a friendly welcome and a willingness to chat about our exhibitions.
