Want to make something with a new technology but unsure where to start?

As part of our 40th year we look back on the gallery’s legacy of introducing new technologies with a series of digital surgeries. These creative workshops will demystify contemporary technologies commonly used by artists to push the boundaries of their practices. Our aim is to give participants confidence with new tools, develop new skills and encourage new creative exploration.

Tanya Fish from tech makers Pimoroni will introduce you to a number of different ways of adding interactivity and coolness to your projects. Get hands-on with projection design and bring real world objects to life, with digital artist Sam Meech in this creative introduction to projection mapping with the software Isadora. Product designer Steve Anwar will lead you through a session on the 3D design software Sketchup. Laura Clough, artist and acoustic consultant, will lead a field recording workshop, opening up the creative potential of sound.

Materials and tech provided, just bring questions and big ideas!

10am to 1pm, Saturdays in March 2019. £5. Book from February.

See individual event pages for more info about each workshop and to book.
