Join us at the Folk Forest in Endcliffe Park for the official launch of Site Gallery’s Art Van.
To mark this event, the Society of Explorers have designed a programme of hands-on creative activities motivated by their interest in collectives.
Using the Explorers’ very first manifesto as inspiration, designer Angga Kara and artist/DJ Ashley Holmes will lead free art and music workshops. Artist Frances Disley will invite attendees to help create a large-scale sculpture, and the Explorers will run a series of workshops, all subverting historical group learning experiences – featuring origami and a Bob Ross style paint-a-long!
The Art Van will be open from 12pm – 6pm on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 July. All activities are open, free and accessible to all – no previous experience required.
Location: Endcliffe Park, off Rustlings Road, Sheffield, S11 7AA
To book onto Fran Disley’s sculpture workshop in advance, please email Peter Martin on peter.martin@sitegallery.org
Site Gallery’s Society of Explorers is an art collective of 14 – 19 year olds that meets regularly to get involved in artists’ projects at Site Gallery, learn new skills, and put on events.
With thanks to Paul Hamlyn Foundation, and to Sheffield City Council for supplying the van.
