Opening 28 September, 5pm — Plan your visit

Art Sheffield 2013 bringstogether new commissions, exhibitions and performances by international, UK and Sheffield-based artists at locations across the city. This year’s festival exhibition Zero Hours is combined with, for the first time, a parallel programme of independent exhibitions and events.

The Zero Hours exhibition starts with a single work, Joseph Beuys’ Wirtschaftswerte (Economic Values), 1980. Literally a peering over the wall into another economic, social and political world, the work opens up questions about systems, value and art. How do we imagine new ways of living and working from inside our own socio-economic systems?

What legacies of our industrial past are shaping our future? What are the systems of value that we rely on? Zero Hours presents work by Edgar ArceneauxElena BajoZoe BeloffJoseph BeuysBen CainGarth EvansForced EntertainmentThe Grantchester PotteryUrs FischerMikhail KarikisRyan MosleyDavid Riff and Dmitry GutovOliver Ressler and Katja Strunz at locations across the city including Bloc Projects, Graves Gallery, S1 Artspace, Sheffield Institute of Arts Gallery, Site Gallery and off-site venues.

In addition to our usual hours we will be staying open until 6pm throughout the festival.
