Opening 28 September, 5pm — Plan your visit

Now on at Site Gallery is a residency with UK artist Anna Barham, who will be turning the galleries into a public research facility.

Words and letters form the substance and subject of Barham’s work.  She uses them like a malleable material, fascinated by their unruly and feral potential for meaning.   Ideas of the collaborative nature of language and the possible relationship between sound and meaning provide the starting point for a series of events and a new body of work, which is to be produced during her residency.

A recent animation Liquid Consonant, 2012 will be screened throughout the period whilst the main gallery will be occupied by a modular structure Barham has designed specially for the space.  It will be used as the site of production for her new HD video work and from here she will host a series of discussions and events which are detailed on the website – check back for confirmation of more over the course of the residency.

You can find out about Anna’s research and track the project through her project blog – click here.
