Artist Rian Treanor hosts Electronic Music Club, a space for young people to come together and make experimental music using accessible platforms.

Join us at Site Gallery where he will host Glasgow artists Laurie Pitt and Richard McMasters as part of a residency in Rotherham. In this interactive workshop, the three artists will come together and share their different approaches to music and visual making.

Families and young people aged 6+ are encouraged to take part. Drop in anytime between 11-1pm and stay for as long as you feel. Intergenerational collaboration is encouraged.

Artists

Electronic Music Club is a year long series of free after school electronic music workshops lead by Rotherham artist Rian Treanor. Exploring computer patterns, electronic rhythms and unusual digital sounds.

Rian Treanor is an artist from Rotherham working primarily with electronic music and group based participation. His practice focuses on creating bespoke software to explore algorithmic processes and unusual synthesised sounds within various collaborations, workshops, live performances and installations. These are often socially engaged works that invite people to play together using accessible devices that anyone can pick up and play, with a focus on exploratory forms of networked interaction between audiences and collaborators.

Laurie Pitt is a drummer, tutor, producer and DJ based in Glasgow. He has toured internationally with bands, and helped set up a recording studio in Ghana with Green Door Studios. He has an interest in experimental music and is studying music BMus at Glasgow University. Working with Sound Lab, he has taught drums, percussion and DJ skills to a variety of people including care experienced young people. He currently plays in bands The Modern Institute, Superspreaders, Susannah Stark band, and L.
