You could learn how to make your own karaoke videos using Adobe Premiere Pro.
In this workshop, led by artist Lucy Vann, participants explored karaoke as a means to express something hidden about ourselves and to convey emotion. Working with archival footage, backing tracks and sentimental song lyrics, we played with video editing software to create karaoke-inspired text based videos.
You were introduced to the basics of video editing using the software Adobe Premiere Pro. Laptops were provided with full access to the software.

Artists
Lucy Vann’s practice explores how we exist in an absurd world and perform ourselves in daily life. She captures short-lived moments via writing, phone camera and voice note, later edited into different outputs – poetry, non-linear narrative, performance, video and sound. Her works explore the everyday – dreams, uneasy moments, familiar scenarios with slight twists. Her observations consider the humour, melancholy and anxiety of being a person.
Lucy has exhibited, screened, performed and published work nationwide including S1 Artspace, HOME, Site Gallery and Freelands Foundation. She has broadcast sound and spoken works on No Bounds Radio. Lucy created a series of music videos for the band Dry Cleaning. She studied at the Royal College of Art and is based in Sheffield.
