Participation Manager

This is an exciting time to join Site Gallery, Sheffield’s leading international contemporary art space. We have just completed a programme of expansion and refurbishment and re-launch to the public in September. Trebling the size of our public offer we have created a brand new 290sqm gallery and a dedicated Project Space along with commercial spaces including a shop and café.

We seek a Participation Manager to:

  1. Develop the long-term sustainability of Site Gallery’s participation and education activity embedding the programme within Site’s core artistic offer
  2. Carry out fundraising and income generation activity
  3. Working with a Producer, commissioned artists and collaborators, deliver participatory and education activity for Sheffield’s diverse communities

City of Ideas Project Manager

Site Gallery is leading a three-year place-making project – City of Ideas – funded by Arts Council England’s Ambition For Excellence Fund. City of Ideas is delivered through a consortium of arts organisations each based in Sheffield’s Cultural Industries Quarter. The programme aims to reinvigorate the area creating a destination for creative work and leisure, through permanent/infrastructural public artworks, experimental temporary installations and events.

We are now seeking a Project Manager to:

  1. Project Manage City of Ideas, ensuring activity is planned and resourced, partners are engaged, key deliverables are met, evaluation is carried out and reporting to funders is delivered
  2. Oversee the work of our commissioned architects to deliver a programme of artistic and community engagement and develop a brief for the future of Festival Square
  3. Manage a programme of events and act as the Site Gallery lead for collaborations with City of Ideas partners.

Volunteer for Site Gallery Introducing at Folk Forest

We are looking for volunteers to join us at Folk Forest, 21 and 22 July.

The role will enable you to gain experience working for a contemporary art gallery in a live, community festival setting. Working with the team, you will support with a variety of tasks including: setting up and taking down, talking to members of the public, encouraging festival audiences to come over the Site Gallery Introducing area and helping us run our information point.

There are various shifts available, and you will be able to enter the paid area of the Folk Forest free of charge after you have finished your shift. We will also be offering food vouchers for volunteers to purchase food from the stalls at the festival.

Front of House Volunteer Opportunity

We are looking for a team of volunteers to join our Front of House Team when we reopen in September.

This voluntary role will enable you to gain valuable experience and knowledge of the inner workings of a contemporary art gallery, in a vibrant customer/audience facing position. Tasks and duties assigned to volunteers are often broad ranging, from reception duties to assisting with technical set up and supporting the marketing department. The intention is that each volunteer continually develops and enriches their skills base.

We typically ask for volunteers to support us for a day a week, between Tuesday and Sunday. We encourage people from a diversity of backgrounds to apply.
