General Voluntary Opportunities

‘Volunteering at Site Gallery has connected me to the creative scene in Sheffield’ (Current Volunteer).

Site Gallery offers voluntary positions throughout the year for individuals wishing to gain experience in a contemporary art gallery environment. We are currently looking for new volunteers to join our vibrant and enriching volunteer programme.

You will receive one to one training in many areas from arts administration to front of house responsibilities, and be offered a thorough insight into the running of a contemporary art gallery. You may also gain experience in fields of technical setup, installation, design, marketing and communications. You will become a key member of a highly motivated team.

We will work hard to ensure your internship helps you build the essential skills, experience and confidence to enhance your future career prospects, and help you to identify fields of work you may like to pursue in the future.

Voluntary positions require one day a week support during gallery opening hours (Tuesday – Saturday, 11am – 5.30pm). We also ask for support from volunteers during exhibition previews and events (usually 6pm – 8pm).

Voluntary positions are reviewed regularly to ensure that you are developing the essential skills and experience to enhance your future potential. All positions are voluntary. Expenses for travel and lunch are covered (up to £5.00 per day). Applicants will preferably be based in the Sheffield area.
