Led by artist Rhys Coren

Learn to create your own stop motion animations in this unique workshop led by Rhys Coren, an artist featuring in the current exhibition, E-Vapor-8.
Rhys Coren works across a wide range of media, including text, painting, animation, sound and installation, with a love of narrative remaining central to it all. Recent exhibitions of the Rhys’s work have taken inspiration from dance music culture, experimental film, set design, minimal composition and football kits.
The workshop:
Create your own perfectly looping, 1-second, hand-drawn animation using marker pens, flat-bed scanners and image manipulation software. Rhys will demonstrate how you can produce your own GIF animations at 12 frames per second, exploring the artistic potential of this DIY technique. At the end of the workshop, the animations will be hosted on Site Gallery’s online blog and available to the public for downloading and sharing!
Suitable for over 16s, with basic knowledge of drawing and computers.
What you will need:
Participants should bring their own laptops and have Photoshop software installed. Please inform us in advance if this is not possible and we can arrange a limited number of computers to be available.
