Documenting Your Work Part 1 – SLR Photography

Saturday 5 February, 11-12:30
Documenting Your Work Part 2 – Editing on Adobe Lightroom

Have you ever wanted to document your work but not sure where to start? In this two part workshop we will learn the basics of SLR photography and Adobe Lightroom.

Using Platform 21 as a reference point, we will explore the exhibition together, build a set of images and learn how to edit them to achieve professional results.

In the first session we will be learning about the basics of SLR photography including aperture, shutter speed and ISO and how these different elements work together to create the exposure triangle. We will look at the ways these elements can be combined to create different results when documenting your work. We will also explore how different focal lengths can achieve different results when capturing images.

In the second session we will import our images into Adobe Lightroom and learn how we can change our exposure, contrast and colour temperature to get our images to how we like them. We will also explore the different lens correction techniques and colour profiles you can apply to make your images really stand out.

Numbers are limited and we are asking participants who book on to be able to attend both sessions. Laptops and cameras will be provided but please let us know if you have your own so we can offer additional places. This event will take place on the ground level of our building and is wheelchair accessible with accessible toilets on the same floor.
