Using as a starting point, the work of Berlin based artist, Nicolas Moulin [through his first solo exhibition at Site Gallery – Blanklümdermilq, June 12th – 1st August 2009], students from Doncaster and Hatfield Colleges, took part in short photography projects exploring form and function in Brutalist style architecture.

Nicolas Moulin discusses Sheffield and his recent show at Site Gallery. Moulin works in video, photography, sculpture and sound. He is fascinated by strange worlds, be they vast, deserted landscapes of his Novomond series or his disturbing VIDERPARIS, large-scale photographs of apparently familiar Paris streets, where the facades have been concreted over to a height of several metres
