Every week a group of young people aged 11-18 meets at Site Gallery to sing and write music inspired by our exhibitions.

Come and join us for a free taster session which forms part of the opening weekend for our new exhibition, In Absence of the Smoky God by Matt Stokes. The exhibition uses singing and video to construct an immersive installation, inspired by hidden Sheffield locations, sci-fi literature and Barry Hines’ 1984 BBC TV production Threads.

The taster session is part of Sensoria Festival.

No experience is needed. Please email Cassie Kill to book your place – cassie.kill@sitegallery.org.

Find out more about our regular Singing in the Gallery sessions on Saturday afternoons.

The project is delivered in partnership between Sheffield Music Hub and Site Gallery. It is part of a South Yorkshire partnership between Barnsley, Doncaster and Sheffield funded by Youth Music’s ‘Excellence Through Group Singing’ programme. Singing in the Gallery will run for two years from October 2013. All activity will take place at Site Gallery during term time but out of school hours.
