Site Gallery’s Live Art programme, both in one-off events, and a festival, highlights the practice of artists who are working in lens-based and digital media across time-based, performative, interactive and durational contexts.

Live Art offers new languages to play with the cultural and social influences that inform us. It enables us to articulate new forms of identity and representation and to create new cultural landscapes. These artists contribute to broader social and political shifts around identity, assimilation and hybridity in Britain’s multi-cultural society.

The Live Art festival curated by Site Gallery is the only event of its kind in the Yorkshire region. It attracts audiences nationally and internationally, and is networked across the country.
