Brutalist Speculations & Flights of Fancy
Brutalist Speculations and Flights of Fancy is a publication plus a day of exploration of six of Sheffield’s Brutalist buildings. Starting with guided walks to some of the buildings, followed by a symposium, book launch and reception, the day will explore proposals and enquiries, speculations, and flights of fancy based around the position that these six Brutalist building hold in Sheffield today.

S1 Artspace and Site Gallery are delighted to announce they will be presenting Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2011. Opening on 23 September, and featuring the work of 40 artists across a range of mediums, this exhibition provides a unique opportunity to engage with new practice, ideas and forms.

Mars was a place
Mars was a place is a new video work by Hondartza Fraga, in collaboration with Markus Lantto. A remote and unidentified landscape slowly sweeps in front of the camera while we hear the word exchange between the two artists. Their conversation reflects on ideas of journey, maps, dislocation and the difficulty in the attempt to carry out a long distance dialogue.
