Site Young Apprentice Work Placement
In July the gallery piloted an intensive two week apprenticeship for 14 – 17 year olds as a vocational extension of the Site Young Apprentice Scheme [SYAS]. The pilot offered a practical insight into careers in the contemporary art sector through a range of exciting assignments, artists’ talks and visits.

Artist interviews and audience feedback led by young people
During 2009, Site extended its education work with young people to include media and journalism assignments to help further contextualise its exhibitions programme and involve young people in contemporary art dialogue. This has involved young people in researching and interviewing exhibiting artists for the gallery website and encouraging and collecting comments from audience members at private views and related events.
