Peeping Tom is a large-scale projection work that extends Lewis’ investigation into what he terms the “parts” or “bits” of cinema (titles, end sequences etc.). The work takes its title and its inspiration from Michael Powell’s seminal 1959 psychological thriller, “Peeping Tom”.

Internationally acclaimed artist Susan Hiller’s most recent video installation, PSI Girls, consists of five floor-to-ceiling projections exploring the relationship between “magic” and “art”, using excerpts from popular cinema, collected, sampled and manipulated by Hiller over several years.

Traffic takes as theme the contrast between American ideas of the Road Movie and the romance of road culture and the European equivalent which is more involved with tailbacks, traffic, monotony and stasis. The works in the show highlight this dichotomy and deal with what has become an attitude, a way of life not just a side-effect of travel.

The School for Lovers
Sharon Kivland’s work is canny, a play with a force of imagination as it holds us hostage between our secret desires and the banal. Through her work she creates a space of highly formulised attention, an event within which the viewer is drawn like a detective, both intellectually and through desire into pleasure of the gaze.
