Join us for a special evening event delving into the lives and work of British sculptors Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth. Helen Pheby, Senior Curator at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, joins Mel Brimfield and Gwyneth Herbert to discuss their current Platform residency project, Barbara and Henry – The Musical, combining archival truths with fiction and speculation.
Helen Pheby is Senior Curator at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Recent exhibitions and projects include Ursula von Rydingsvard, Ai Weiwei, Fiona Banner, Tracey Emin and Martin Creed, alongside displays of forty long-term loans. Her PhD thesis examined case studies of international public art in relation to audiences, engagement and the articulation of ‘place’.
She now works with communities worldwide, for example with ArtRole, to facilitate cultural exchange with Kurdistan-Iraq and with Creative India. In collaboration with Sophie Ernst she recently published: Home YSP 2012; Miró: Sculptor YSP 2012; James Capper: Divisions YSP 2013 and Jordan McKenzie YSP 2014.
